Lori and Sean's September Wedding

October 02, 2018 in blog

While Tropical Storm Gordon was barreling through Indiana, Lori and Sean said “I do” in Nashville, IN this September.

They kept a positive attitude during the entire day’s torrential downpour.

I don’t remember the last time I saw so much heavy rain in 24 hours. It literally did not stop the entirety of their wedding day. To make things more interesting, the power in the house and the barn went out for the majority of the evening. Bridal party people and family members scrambled to figure out how to turn it back on, and they hustled to find umbrellas and extra lights.
If this were anyone else’s wedding it could have been a very different kind of day, but Lori and Sean shrugged the little things off. This couple’s “whatever happens, happens” attitude is something to be admired. I was grateful for their positivity.

With my socks and shoes soaked, bags on my cameras, and bundled up in my heavy raincoat under a giant bubble umbrella, I was happy everyone was willing to brave the sideways rain with me to get some great outdoor shots!

In the evening, in the dimly lit barn, Lori and Sean said “I do” without hesitation. Without a care of all the things that seemed to go wrong, they stood together in happiness.

I am so glad they were able to focus on their celebration of love instead of the rain and lack of electricity. It was beautiful, and definitely the most eventful wedding I’ve shot to date!

Congrats to the both of you, and let me just say again: I admire your persistent positivity! <3
